Welcome to Strongbox, a community where harbor pilots can share information about ports and ships to help us all safely navigate them. Your privacy matters to us, so this Privacy Statement explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our mobile application.

We process your personal information only when we have a valid lawful basis to do so, in compliance with applicable data protection laws. The lawful bases we rely on include:

• Performance of a contract: the processing is necessary to fulfil our contractual obligations with you, or to take steps you have requested before entering into a contract.
• Compliance with a legal obligation: the processing is necessary for us to comply with applicable legal requirements.

What Information Do We Collect and How Do We Use It?

When you create an account and profile

When we reach out to pilot associations to offer Strongbox participation to each association’s members, we assign an identifying number to you to validate that you are a member of that association. This number is used only for internal purposes.

When you decide to create an account, we collect your name and email address and a password for log-in purposes.

Once you create an account, you can create your profile, which will be visible to all other Strongbox users. You must choose a display name for your profile. Other optional information you can put in your profile includes a 500-word bio, your email address and your phone number. You can edit this information at any time.

We use this information to manage your account, ensure secure login, and deliver the services you request.

When you post comments in the app

To enable our community to share relevant information about ports and ships, you can post comments about specific harbors or specific vessels. You can choose to post your comment anonymously. If you do not make your post anonymous, your user name and any contact information from your profile will be included with your post. You also have the option to include photos with your post. You can edit your post at any time.

When you contact us in the app

You can send us messages through the app. We will use any personal information you send us only for the purpose of answering your question.

Personal information we collect automatically when you use the app

When you use our mobile app, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information, which may be considered personal information under applicable data protection laws. This information may include:

• Device type and operating system
• IP address
• App usage statistics
• Crash reports and diagnostics

We use this information to serve the app in the right format for your device; to run, maintain, and protect our app; and to serve the content you requested.

• If Strongbox goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be among the assets transferred, provided that we inform the actual or potential buyer (or its agents and advisors) that it must use your personal information only for the purposes disclosed in this Privacy Statement.
• We do not sell your personal information.

How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Information?

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law.

If you delete your Strongbox account, we will delete your profile, however your comments will remain posted in the app with the name “deleted user” on them, as they continue to provide valuable information to our community. We will provide you the option to keep your user name on your comments if you want.

How Do We Keep Your Personal Information Secure?

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no one can guarantee the security of information transmitted through the internet. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the password to access your account.

What Privacy Rights Do You Have?

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access your personal information
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Withdraw your consent, if we have collected and processed your personal information with your consent
• Opt out of marketing communications sent by Strongbox

While you have an active account, you can access, correct and delete your personal information through the app. You also can exercise these rights by contacting us at support@strongboxpilots.com. Strongbox will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Will This Privacy Statement Change?

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. If we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date on this Privacy Statement.
